Project Description:
The project proposal is a 2-year pilot with the aim of developing a Community Shares Support Service for Pembrokeshire. This activity is noted in the LEADER intervention logic table and the LDS document.The pilot project employed a Community Shares Development Officer to identify and support community cooperatives.
Project Outcomes:
- This project provided start-up funding opportunities for community cooperatives to buy and develop social enterprises.
- The project ensured that digital technology was used to collate data and ensured an effective marketing campaign for each share offer launch.
- Provided an opportunity to share learning experiences from one project to another and ensured that local people dictated the direction of how local services and supply chains can be developed.
Lessons Learned:
There were initial issues around recruitment and the COVID-19 pandemic presented many challenges which resulted in the project being delayed.

Arwain Sir Benfro and the LEADER Programme concluded in December 2021 once all projects were completed and funding exhausted.
