Project Description:
This project aims to develop a web presence which will sit within the Pembrokeshire County Council’s (PCC) main site; its purpose will be to design and construct a web-based community development tool.
Project Outcomes:
The toolkit offers Pembrokeshire communities an easily accessible 24-hour ‘one stop shop’ which enables anyone embarking on a new project or developing an existing one to obtain a wide range of web-based information and advice. This enables community members to be more involved with local regeneration, social activities and environmental projects. It was informed through consultation using questionnaires and face-to-face interviews with community members, community groups and statutory and third sector officers who work with communities.
Lessons Learned:
Allocating only two days a week to this project has proved problematic in the light of arranging meetings with busy community members, groups and officers and has prolonged the project.
”The Toolkit has offered Pembrokeshire communities as easily accessible 24 hour ‘one stop shop’ which enables anyone embarking on a new project or developing an existing one to obtain a wide range of information and advice. As the Toolkit further develops it will allow different community groups to network and share their experiences, ideas and resources. It will also offer examples of projects to inspire groups and demonstrate good practice.”
