Arwain Sir Benfro – the Local Action Group (LAG) for Pembrokeshire, administered by PLANED – have recently provided funding to the Haverfordwest Community Regeneration & Innovation Hub – HAVERHUB, through the LEADER programme.
The Haverhub a newly developed community regeneration hub based at the Old Post Office, Haverfordwest aims to help rejuvenate the county town centre, getting it buzzing again with locals and tourists from far and wide. The LEADER fund provided financial assistance towards professional help to undergo all site surveys, drawings and specifications to project manage the renovations, as well as to enhance the business plan, and other planning tools, and legal/organisational model.
The funding secured will enable design of the organisational structure of a regeneration hub, how it would be run to engage with the full community, and quantify its contribution towards reducing social isolation and skill poverty and enabling people to be aspirational. All research and learning will be compiled into a shareable ‘road map’.
This is just one example of the great projects being delivered in the county. PLANED, now celebrating its 30th year has helped communities in Pembrokeshire to access over £25m worth of funding during that time.
