A project to scope a potential Natural Therapy Health Centre has been funded by Arwain Sir Benfro.
Clynfyw Care Farm will investigate the development of a Natural Therapy Health Service to develop their existing work, with a more in depth focus on the health and healing aspects of nature.
Arwain Sir Benfro – the Local Action Group (LAG) for Pembrokeshire, administered by PLANED have provided funding of £14,999 to Clynfyw Care Farm. This is funded through the LEADER programme, which is part of the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020, Funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
Previous projects at Clynfyw include farm and woodland based eco-therapy schemes which support people with a range of specific and complex sensory needs.
The feasibility project will help to expand this area of their work, especially to make it more valuable for people recovering from mental health issues, through the development of a specific Natural Therapy Health Service
The outputs of the study will be shared through a short film which can be used as a way of introducing the concept of Natural Health Centres, and the feasibility study which it is hoped will lead on to a more in depth and academic study.
The Project is based in Abercych, North Pembrokeshire supporting the surrounding communities of north Pembrokeshire, southern Ceredigion and north Carmarthenshire.
