PLANED have recently met with Julie James AM, Minister for Housing and Local Government to discuss progress and plans for the future of the PLANED Pembrokeshire Community Land Trust project.
Pembrokeshire Community Land Trust (CLT) is a LEADER funded project administered by PLANED. The Pembrokeshire CLT is working with communities to deliver genuinely and permanently affordable homes, that are owned and run by local people, for local people, that generate incomes for their communities.
Recent success of the Pembrokeshire Community Land Trust include collaboration with West Country-based Wessex CLT – one of the leaders in the field in the UK.
The CLT team at PLANED hosted housing experts from London and the West Country for a seminar hosted jointly by PLANED and Pembrokeshire County Council. Keynote speakers from Wessex CLT, Bristol City Council and National Community Land Trust showcased exemplar models of community led housing delivered by local people.
The CLT team have successfully worked with Solva Community Council to deliver plans for a new CLT to deliver affordable housing. CLTs in Pembrokeshire will now receive around £3m from Pembrokeshire County Council.
CLT Project Lead, Jo Rees-Wigmore has been meeting with communities across the county, including in Boncath and Roch to discuss establishing local CLTs within Pembrokeshire.
Arwain Sir Benfro – the Local Action Group (LAG) for Pembrokeshire, administered by PLANED has provided funding of £60,410 to develop the Pembrokeshire Community Land Trust project. This is funded through the LEADER programme, which is part of the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020, Funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
